Unique Ideas On Contemporary Art Displays

By Gregory Nelson

May be you have completed working on your perfect painting with the very best artwork supplies, but are not sure how to show off your skills. Well, you are not alone. The majority of people are content to hang their artwork on the wall, but this can be too conventional for those who are keen to discover adventurous ways to display their creations differently. There are numerous ways to Contemporary Art Displays.

Maintenance is the key to longevity. It is important that you take measures to properly maintain the artwork displays. This will include dusting and cleaning with a cloth to remove all the dirt and grease that may have accumulated on the frame or the Plexiglas. Clean the artwork-pieces regularly, about once a week. Otherwise, it'll be difficult to get rid of the oil and grease after some time.

Lean it against a side table; Find furniture in your house that you can lean your framed artwork piece on the side. For example, if you have a small side table adjacent to your sofa in the living room, you can easily prop an artwork piece against it. Just ensure that the frame is not taller than the table itself. Else, it'll look odd.

Alternatively, you can always place your artwork on a chair, and this works best with antique furniture which is located next to a doorway because people can view it whenever they enter or leave a room. Using an antique chair to exhibit your artwork will benefit both the furniture and the painting especially if the work is both tall and narrow and reaches a person's eye level on viewing.

Having a strategic position is quite important. For instance, when hanging artwork on the wall behind a dining table, hang the artwork pieces between the chairs at the dining table. This will ensure that people sitting down will not be blocking the artwork pieces behind them. Also, create a little space between the wall where the artwork is displayed and the dining table, if space permits of course.

The artwork work, together with the antique chair, both complement each other and make a unified statement to your guests as they leave the room through the doorway. If you have a cupboard next to a door, you can also lean the artwork piece against the side of the cupboard as well, so that visitors walking past the doorway can have a good look at it.

If your table has enough space, accessorize it! You can use items like candles, vases, candle holders, small stones, small statues, and fruit baskets, among others. Any of these items can be bought cheaply at the neighborhood flea market.

Select a suitable theme. The selection depends on the theme and the mood of your decor. Assuming you have chosen a modern contemporary setting for your home, suitable artwork pieces you can use for your kitchen or dining area could be food related. Pictures of fruits or vegetables hanging on the wall would surely whet the appetites of diners.
