The most demanding job that paralegals handle is to draft legal documents. As such, it is important for one to be good in written communication. Documents drafted include legal briefs, interrogatories, pretrial orders, deposition notices, subpoenas, and complaints among others. They must also ensure that the documents they draft are delivered to the intended recipient in a timely manner.

Legal assistants also tackle numerous works that involve office administration. Maintaining reference lists, taking phone calls, filing papers, and calling witnesses, clients, court personnel, and other lawyers are some of the office administration duties they handle.
