Useful Insights For A Reggae Fusion Artist

By Carl Stone

Becoming this musician is not an easy thing. There will be other people who will demand that you do this and that. Thus, stay firm with your practice and show to them that music must not be constricted. You are allowed to interpret any song of your choosing and simply lead everybody to have a good night.

Make sure that you have solid background references. You may want to be a reggae fusion artist but you shall realize that the norms of society are still there. So, go ahead and try to find the balance between the rules on how you need to play a song and your personal references as well.

It would also be best if you manage to write your own songs. Remember that you need to set yourself apart from the other artists out there. Besides, when you are the first one to sing the song, there shall be fewer rules and that can really make you enjoy the time which you have on stage.

You should manage to stay humble as much as you can. Again, a lot of temptations will be around you from this point onwards. You could only rely on yourself to stay exactly the way you are. Always keep yourself reminded that the end goal in here is not fame alone. You are doing this for the love of music.

Be ready to become constant to your music no matter where you get placed in the world. Remember that you are trying to bring back something which used to be golden in the past. Thus, the tunes would have to become nostalgic one way or another. You also need to establish your brand no matter what happens.

Have two songs in the past and these people will not mind. If you have managed to build them up, then they will just go with the flow, dance to the rhythm and forget the world. Remember that this might be one of the reasons why they chose to be your audience tonight. Allow everybody to completely relax and have fun before reality sinks in.

You can be the modern type of musician. So, become versatile in the best way possible. That is vital when one is not putting any limits to where you want to play. Be done with all the stereotypes in the world and be free.

Learn to speak some of the basic words of the locals. Again, it is all about finding a way to connect with the people in front of you. Promote yourself by being good at handling people. Be true and genuine to everyone you meet.

Overall, you just need to sing your heart out there. Try not to be in the mainstream side even if there is more money out there. You are doing this because you want to and not because other people are telling you how reggae needs to be played in here.
