Organized People Find Shopping To Make Money A Great Resource

By Charles Wood

While some people dread the shopping process, there are a select group of individuals who are very meticulous when they are buying products. The latter group may be great at finding discounts, interacting with sales staff or taking advantage of deals they have just learned about. People with these types of characteristics would be great at shopping to make money and possibly receive free items.

This line of work is growing in popularity for a number of reasons. Mostly because executives and shareholders want to know how everyday operations work. Although some may see mystery shopping as spying, the ability to tell the truth and be objective are key traits that marketing companies look for.

Mystery shopping may involve having a conversation with a representative and note whether they are promoting their latest product. Others may test how a store handles returns for everyday items. Then there are very easy shops that require contractors to take a picture with their smartphone.

For instance, a person is at a fast food restaurant placing a small order. They realize that it is taking longer than usual but may notice things like the person that was ahead of them with a large order or the small staff. Other factors like time and date are indicators of whether management should hire extra staff or provide current staff with additional training.

While everyone has a different preparation method prior to performing a shop, the ideal is to be prepared. This means keeping notes concealed before entering a shop and keeping track of deadlines so that reports are submitted in a timely fashion. Report submissions are like an invoice when it comes to getting paid on time.

Although some individuals may perform shops as a way to earn extra money for years, even decades, it can take a while to get the hang of things. One way to have a good shopping experience is to report findings as soon as possible. Waiting until the last minute may cause shoppers to not get paid or ruin their standing for future shops.

Another good tip is to never rock the boat. If a member of sales is not communicating appropriately, it is best to remain calm until the transaction is completed. Even if a person suspects that an individual is a mystery shopper, sticking to script until the visit is complete will make everyone happy.

While this line of work may appear to be easy, the best way to capitalize is to join online member groups or earn a certification. Holding a gold certification can make a big difference for the experienced shopper but there are some conditions to consider. Firstly, assignments will require more details, as some shops may last for several hours. There are even a few clients that may require shoppers to make return trips or stay somewhere overnight.

For those who are curious about this line of work, it will help to sign on with forums that list jobs or join an organization that offering certification credentials. Prospects can get an idea about pay and other factors. They may also get the opportunity to help out an experienced shopper seeking a referral bonus.
